Thirty years of experience building N Gauge layouts and watching the developments in the industry give us the confidence to share our experience and knowledge with our customers in order to help them build their very own layout that will be admired by family and friends.
In 1989 we acquired our first set of Digital Equipment using Arnold components and locomotives. Despite the initial expensive set up costs this is an exciting way to operate a railway. If you are not compfortable in wiring a DC analogue layout then we would suggest seeking out advice on DCC systems, information that is available at most rail exhibitions.
There are many DC systems avaialble today within a wide price range. It pays to take time and to try out as many as is possible also asking at Exhibitions where layouts are on a DCC basis of their experience. The advantages of DCC are in the simpler wiring arrangements eliminating isolated sections and a control panel. Well worth investigating.
Why do we believe in N Gauge as a suitable basis for a model railway layout or as I prefer to refer to the hobby' 3D Art?
If you were to build a 2m by 1.2m layout in N Gauge the equivalent size in HO/OO would be 4m by 2.4m which may not be possible to accomodate easily in the restricted living space we now face. Again compare different scales of layouts at exhibitions to see how much can be built in N gauge.
